Gas Gauge actin up
Hello, I have a 1996 saab 900 s. It has about 175K miles on it. I know that older cars can act up and not work as they once did, so i'm wondering if there's anything I can even do about it.
I recently got the alternator & battery replaced. Before I had it worked on, the gas gauge started reading wrong,(as in it showing I had more gas than I actually do). Once they were replaced- it still read wrong.
I'm no where near car savvy and am wondering if there is any way to reset/reprogram or anyway to test the gas gauge? Is it gone for good at this point? Is there anything that can be done so i'm not worried if running out of gas all the time?
I do try to track my milage usage and fill ups to get an idea but i'm just curious if there's something I can do about it. Thanks in advance.
