Check Engien Light
Hei, my check engien light is worker in my car. and I have found out that it's p0130 - Oxygen sensor (OS) or OS circuit.
Also my CO% gass whas to high, 1,57 % to be exactly, and should be 0,5 % Can all this come from the Lamdasond? Or do some one in her know what det problemt can be? The spec's on my var : 3" all the way from the turbo. New Intercooler. Open Air filter K&N. 0,5 Bar Turbo boost. Sorry for bad language :) Mvh |
RE: Check Engien Light
Do you still have a catalytic converter on your car? Yes, the O2 sensor is probably at fault here, but if you don't have a cat it might also be the cause.
|
RE: Check Engien Light
Yes I have cat on my car, and I have checked every silikon house for leeks on the car, and have found no one, but I don't want to by new lamda if it's not the lamda who is broken, you get me? :)
The car works perfectly normal, I dont notis anything at all when I am driven, exept that its using VERY mutch Gasolin !!!!!! The drivingcomputer goes of the hills with the numbers. Again, sorry for my bad English. |
RE: Check Engien Light
It is possible that this code is indicating something else. Try to check the 02 sensor wires for continuity with a multimeter. Also I'd check the fuel pressure to see if it's low by any chance. That code can be triggered by that.
|
RE: Check Engien Light
Okei, how can I check the fuel pressure? Do I ned anny special tool? or do I need a Gauge?
|
RE: Check Engien Light
yeah, you need a gauge. There's a valve that you can attach a gauge to. The location varies, but it's either at the fuel rail or at the fuel pressure regulator.

RE: Check Engien Light
Hello Docen. If you don't mind me asking, what is your mother language?
|
RE: Check Engien Light
Okei, Thanks Roto :)
My Mother language is Norwegian :) just one question: If this problems that you are saying I should check is allright. Then it's guaranteed that it's the Lamda, 02 sensor? |
RE: Check Engien Light
Nothing is ever guaranteed, but it may be the case...also try to take the sensor out and wire-brush the bung. It could just be a bad ground.
|
RE: Check Engien Light
could it be the amm causing him trouble with codes
|
RE: Check Engien Light
Okei, I shall try all those things you have taken up :)
But since my Co gass % is sow high? And It uses so mutch fuel, what are the sympthoms? I thoug of what you sad, and if the fuel pressure is wrong, wouldnt that be noticed when i drive the car in any way? Like I sad, I do not get any problems while driving, other then it uses mutch fuel. and the light is there, and my CO% is to high. It should be 0,5% And now it is at 1,57 % |
RE: Check Engien Light
I'm no emissions expert, so I can't tell if increased CO is a sign of running rich or lean, but increased consumption points to rich. If that's the case you also might have a stuck open injector. Pull the spark plugs and take a picture of them to post here.
|
RE: Check Engien Light
The plug color is normal, Light Chocolate brown. But her is the pic. (not the best camrea)

RE: Check Engien Light
Are all of them the same?
|
RE: Check Engien Light
Yes, All 4 !
|
RE: Check Engien Light
Take the sensor out and try to rattle it. If there's something rattling inside than it's definitly bad.
|
RE: Check Engien Light
Okei, I'll try that tomorrow, and I just have to say that I am very glad for your expertise !!
Thanks !:) |
RE: Check Engien Light
Hey, Nothings rattling inside of the o2 sensor !
On my car there should be a 4 wirring sensor, right? Did I mention that my Driving computer is showing VERY high amount of fuel per 100 km. So mutch that in fact it's not possibel to use that mutch fuel. And since I don't notis anything while driving the car? just that the chek engien light is there, and the Driving computer is over the hills ! My plugs seems fine. And like I sad, the car acts perfectly nomal while driving, I have to fix this because of the Eu-chek. Can it be my cat is broken? exhaust leeks? something else? |
RE: Check Engien Light
Yeah, yours should be a 4-wire sensor. Have you tried resetting the ecu by disconnecting the battery?
|
RE: Check Engien Light
No, should I do that whit taking the minus pole off in about 10 minutes? and then put it back on ?
|
RE: Check Engien Light
High CO indicates a rich mixture. So the failed emissions and the increased fuel consumption are related. Now its just a matter of "why". It is possible that the Lambda sensor has failed and is falsely telling the ECU to add fuel. Poor grounds and poor connections can cause this. I seem to remember an in-line connector somewhere that was common for corroding, causing bad Lambda readings, but I don't remember where it is off hand.
|
RE: Check Engien Light
Do you mean the connector around the throttle body area?
|
RE: Check Engien Light
ORIGINAL: Docen No, should I do that whit taking the minus pole off in about 10 minutes? and then put it back on ? |
RE: Check Engien Light
Okei :)
Roto : Can you list up all the things I should Try befor buying a new Lamda? That I would really appreciate !! |
