Default Replacing cooling system in my 94 V6 looking for feedback

I have had the car for 4 years now and have only used it as my winter goto vehicle. Since I had it, there has always been an issue with the cooling system: The cooling fan has always only half worked. It came on for a couple seconds, then off, then on etc etc. One day the fan shorted out so I replaced it. Still had the same issue. I have also replaced the radiator and ONE of the coolant temp sensors. Still have problems with the system. In addition the engine temperature guage on my dash no longer works.

I am now ordering parts to do as complete job as possible on the cooling system.
I am getting a new pump, new hoses, new coolant temp sensor, new thermostat. Is there anything else I should consider replacing to make sure I have it done right? I have read about shorting out some relays in the box to correct the problem with the intermitent fan issue, should I try that as well? I appreciate any input.
