1999 Saab 9-3 SE Hatchback ACC Climate Control
I have feverishly worked on my ACC Climate Control Panel. It has pixel issues. I don't want to hear about BBA refurbishing. They are good and fixed my SID, but what they didn't do is offer me a price I could afford to fix the Climate Control. It is more than I can afford.
With that said, I took mine apart and found it broke down into 2 pieces. It had a ribbon like wire holding it together. I am not sure if it is the actual Ribbon Wire that is usually replaced, and nobody has told me if it is the right one or not.
I took it apart as far as I could. Removed the final 6 screws and can't remove the inner panel. I suspect the actual ribbon cable to be behind it, but I don't want to force it. I am sure if I can find it I can repair it, resolder it, or replace it with a new ribbon. That is if I can finitely define which one it is and where it is located specifically. I have done youtube with no results for the 9-3 acc version.
So I solicit your help in this matter to restore my pixel digital display. The unit functions well in terms of the operation, but I prefer to see the proper display so I can see what I have turned on and not do the "trial and error" thing. I have found one unit on ebay for $74 and I might consider it if I fail at repairing this one. Any help is appreciated.
