I own a '99 9-3 SE convertible in need of no less than a top repair. It was vandalized prior to purchase with a 5-6 inch tear over the front passenger seat. The top also pools water over the rear passenger area during rain-storms, then leaks through the top.
Replacing the canvas would be a better long term solution but that depends on cost, of course.
Another of the problems with it is in the last 6 months, the top won't lock in place to secure it either down or up. I have to do it manually, making it rather a pain. I know that's not the best way to go for long term life either.
I am somewhat mechanically inclined, but definitely not a wiz.
What am I looking at for the mechanical repairs, setting aside the fabric issues?
