Default Randomly won't start

I have a 2001 Saab 9-3 Convertible with 74,000. I have had it for 6 months. At random times I will try to start the car and it won't start...all of the electronics come on, stereo, heater, lights, everything. When I turn the key over it does nothing, makes no noise andit doesn't try to start. The display reads that everything checks out okay. I have taken it out of park into neutral and it won't start. I shift in and out of park and it may start or it may not. I have waited a few minutes and tried it and it hasstarted. I have to say it is the most frustrating problem. There is no indication whenit will happen. I had it towed yesterday after not starting for over two hours. They have had it at the shop since then and it has started with no problem.
It has always run perfect once it starts.

Can anyone give me a place to start or solution?

Thanks for your help.

Does it happen when the car is warm by any chance?
