Default Speaker Replacement

Hi Everyone,

I'm in the process of replacing the factory speakers on my 2002 93 convertible. I've got the dash 3 1/2's ordered. My question is on the door speakers. I think I read that they're actually subs, or that the crossover in the amp is set so they only drive the bass signal. Because of this, does it even make sense to replace them with 2-way speakers, or should I try to replace them with actual subwoofers.

I'm curious to see what other people have used.

Thanks

Just in case anyone that reads the forums is interested in upgrading their speakers. I replaced the dash with JL Audio 3.5 and it is a world of difference. Very simple instalation, you don't need to tinker with the dash to make them fit. Just cut the wire to the old speaker, splice the wire casing and then use the crimp connectors that come with the new speakers. If you love music and love to drive, it's the best present you can give yourself.

I'm settling on the JL Audio 6.5 for the door, but I'll have to bring it somewhere for installation unless someone can convince me that taking the door off isn't as difficult as it looks.

Anyone know if the door panel absolutely has to come off for speaker replacement in 2007 9-3? If anyone has done this and has some instruction or tips, it would be appreciated. Also, for the dash, do the screens just pop off?

Thanks
