grinding second gear. changed oil in trans now no 1st,2nd 5th,reverse shifter goes in but nothing happens. 3rd and 4th gear work fine clutch is good. any ideas?

old thread I know!! i have the same problem on my 1995 900 S i only have 3 rd and 4th gear... how did you fix it?

ok went for a test drive and only no 5th gear now! and yes this was part of the problem, I will order an new bushing on ebay

Part # 4387361 for years 94, 95, 96 only..

Thats why a digagram had me lost...

Went for a test drive 1st 2nd 3rd 4th great! no 5th at all there is a whine that come on when you try to push it toward 5th. That rubber boot I moved away to push the bushing may still be in the way to get 5th. I just left it half on.. like it is in the pic. I'm sure it wont last long..
it should ;ast until I get the new bushing..
