Default Car won't start

I drove the car to the store and that's where she sits. I came out and the car turns over fine it fired one cylinder and then nothing. Continued attempts failed. No engine light no signs of trouble.
Any thoughts

when you get in the car and turn the key in the "ON" position (not trying to start it) do you hear a humming noise from the back of your car?

Yes, a failed fuel pump would do just like that. Happen out of the blue and pretty much no warning. Also if the car starts after it sat for a couple of hours it will most likely be the crank position sensor. It could be the ignition cassette, but I'd check for cold start and fuel first.

I'll have to get it towed home and check the pump and fuses

Thanks for the advise

Hitting the tank with a rubber mallet from the underneath can sometimes get it to start if it's the fuel pump. If it does start - it's 100% the pump.
